Amir “Aura” Khan went viral on the internet for his aura and swag when he led the McNeese basketball team out of the tunnel in the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament.
Amir rose to prominence in February 2025. Throughout the basketball season, Amir had been leading the McNeese St. Cowboys basketball team out of the locker room, toting a boombox as a different song was blasted every night. Amir came out of the tunnel blasting the music and rapping, pumping up his teammates. The video clip went viral during the NCAA March Madness Basketball Tournament. Fans started following along as Khan went viral again during McNeese’s run to winning its conference championship and earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Ahead of the Cowboys’ debut in the tournament as a 12-seed, Khan became the first manager to sign an NIL deal.
